Montreal at Leisure
Your city
sightseeing tour is a great way to get an overview of this lovely city.
You don't want to miss Old Montreal along the shores of the St. Lawrence
River where Montreal was founded. It leads into the Old Port, which is
one of the largest redeveloped old ports in the world. Here you'll find
the Notre-Dame Basilica, constructed in 1824. It is a masterpiece of
neo-Gothic architecture. Visit Bonsecours Market and City Hall in this
area.

3 - Montreal to Quebec City
Your
travel time aboard VIA Rail from Montreal to
Quebec City
is 3 hours. Your departure from Montreal takes you along the St. Lawrence
region to Quebec City, the cultural and spiritual heart of La Belle
Province. Quebec City sits high above the St. Lawrence River and is the
only walled city north of Mexico. Quebec City is considered by many to be
one of the most beautiful cities in North America. Upon arrival into
Quebec City, you will need to take a taxi from the rail station to your
hotel choice. The famous Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is situated in the
heart of the city, overlooking the St. Lawrence River, close to boutique
shopping and quaint restaurants. From the moment you arrive you will see
that life around the Frontenac is a cornucopia of this vibrant city. The

4 - Quebec City at Leisure
During
your stay, we have arranged a city sightseeing tour that includes a
journey through the old walled city of the Place dArmes and the Citadel,
the official residence of the governor-general in French Canada, and the
largest fort on the continent.
It
seems everything that everything you want to do or see is within easy
walking distance. The charm of the streets and buildings in the Petit
Champlain is reason enough to visit, but the shops offer items that are
unique to Quebec. Horse drawn carriages, sidewalk cafes, street
entertainers, brightly covered building, flowers and a warm welcome, all
add to your enjoyment of this wonderful city.

Quebec City/Charlevoix
The rental
car office will assist with your car pick up arrangements. Travel into
the countryside along the historic Avenue Royale, the oldest route in La
Nouvelle-France, visit beautiful Montmorency Falls and stop at the famous
basilica in Sainte Anne de Beaupre. Continue along the Saint Lawrence
River to
Charlevoix.
Here you will find the beautiful
Manoir
Richelieu. Here you can golf, hike, swim, and go whale
watching or try your luck at the Casino. Use these days to relax and enjoy
the many facilities that the Manoir has to offer.
